Simple. Provide people with a tool to help them find events that interest them.
The current sources for events, like community web pages and commercial sites, are difficult to navigate making the process of finding an event a frustrating and overwhelming experience. We want to clear away the clutter and help people focus in on the events that they find interesting. If, at the same time, we create connections between people in a community, then all the better.
